YES-YOUTH ENERGY SYNERGY

13-18 MARCH 2003, IZMIR/TURKEY

YES-Youth Energy Synergy will be organized by the British Council, Ankara in cooperation with GSM-Youth Services Centre on 13-18 March 2003 in Izmir, Turkey. YES will gather 75 young people, between 18-25 years old, from Turkey, UK and other EU member and accession countries.

Aim of the event:

* To enable young people to have a better understanding of different cultures and each other’s realities.

* Learn about different perceptions on certain realities that are relevant to all young people around the world.

* Act as multipliers and share their experience with their peers in their own localities.

* Create networks and possible partnerships for future activities and initiatives explore ways of active participation.

Methodology:

In order to reach the aims of the project, there will be different workshops organized on:

a) street animation

b) improvisation theatre

c) sights and sound of our body-let's improvise

d) follow your dreams

e) storytelling through shadow theatre

f) forum theater

g) music making and DJ'ing

h) photojournalism

Who can apply?

1-      young people between the age of 18-25

2-      young people who can speak ENGLISH (the language of YES will be English)

3-      young people who is motivated and preferably experienced in youth work

Financial Conditions:

·   All the expenses, like international flight, food and accommodation will be fully covered during the event.

·   No expenses will be covered before the 13^th and/or after the 15^th March 2003.

·   There is NO Participation Fee.

·   Participants will be responsible for their personal expenses and extras during their stay.
